A search for the origin,  the use,  the spreading of the name Otterspoor and the genealogy of the families Otterspoor from the Utrecht river Vecht region

 Preface

My interest in Genealogy must have started when I was fairly young. I collected all the birth, marriage,  death , baptism announcements etc. that I could lay my hands on. In the  80/90 this got more serious as I started family research in a lot of different archives. At First I felt like a child in a Candy Store. There was so much information, that the need I felt to collect it was a bit frantic.  Registration of every bit of information and the source was not a priority. Even now I still have trouble suppressing the urge to a somewhat chaotic need to collect information, instead of sticking to an objective structured registration of all information. 

This writing is a start to put all the so far collected information in a deepened kind of order. Undoubtedly this will regularly be corrected and extended.

Genealogical research is, as far as I’m concerned, never ending and at the same time a fascinating hobby. Also a hobby that brought me into contact with close and distant relatives, and many of them contributed to the family trees.
