I started to teach a new course on speech enchancement at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. This course provides a comprehensive overview of state-of-the-art single and multi-microphone techniques for noise reduction and dereverberation. The course will also be part of a new international master course entitled Communications and Multimedia Engineering (CME). Visit http://www.cme.studium.uni-erlangen.de for more information on this master course.

The RIR generator for MATLAB has been updated. Recent versions already provided the possibility to simulate different microphone types such as omni-directional, bi-directional, cardioide, hyper-cardioide. Unfortunately, you could only change the azimuth angle of the microphone. Now you can change both the azimuth and elevation angles. Below you see various microphone directivity patterns (azimuth 45°, elevation 45°). The subfigures were computed using RIR generator version 20090822, which will be available soon.

Since the publication of this JASA paper that deals with the generation of nonstationary multisensor signals under a spatial coherence constraint, I received numerous emails requesting the MATLAB implementation of the proposed algorithm. Finally, your request has been granted! You can find an implementation including two example scripts here.
