BASIC KNOWLEDGE
1.1 The field:
The field where you play football on has to be a rectangle. The length of the field may not be more than 120 meters and it also may not be shorter than 90 meters. The field may not be wider than 90 meters and the width may not be less than 45 meters.
1.2 The goal area:
Perpendicularly on each target line, two lines must be pulled on a distance of 5.50 meters of each target pole and with a length of 5.50 meters. They become connected at the ends through a line parallel at the target line. The space within these lines and the target line am called target territory.
1.3 The penalty area
Perpendicularly on each goal line must two lines be pulled on a distance of 16.50 meters of each target pole and with a length of 16.50 meters. They become connected at the ends through a line parallel at the target line. The space within these lines and the target line the penalty area. In each penalty area must opposite the middle of the target line, on a distance of 11 meters of the target line, measured along an imaginary line rectangular on that, a clear sign is put in. This sign hot punishment kick point. Outside each punishment kick territory, a circle arc must be put in, pulled radiate with a by 9.15 meters of the penalty spot.
1.4 The corner kick territory
With in the playing field must a quarter circle, pulled with a radiate of 90 centimetres of each corner flag stick, be put in. The middle of each target line the targets must mean have been placed, consisting removed of two perpendicularly standing poles, each on equal distance of the corner kick flag and 7.32 meters of each other (measured at the inside) and agreements by a horizontal goal bar, of which the underside reaches 2.44 meters above the ground. (Nets made by hemp, jute or nylon have been allowed. The nylon threads may be however not thinner then that, made of jute or hemp.)
1.5 A game
A normal football game in football takes to times 45 minutes, so 90 minutes. You call 45 minutes 1 half, if you play in the 20th minute, you’re playing in the 1st half, in the 60th minute you’re playing in the 2nd half. If you have played 45 minutes and maybe some stoppage time, you have a 15 minute break.
1.6 Stoppage time
If you get injured, that happens most of the time during the game, sometimes the game has to be hold. If it takes some time, that time usually gets added to the 45 minutes that you normally play. So; if you play 45 minutes, and someone is being injured to the side of the field, and that for 2 minutes, then there are 2 minutes added to the half.
If you score in that time, then there stands in the game report (45+2) instead of 47.
1.7 The ball
The ball has to be spherically (bolvormig) the outside has to be of leather in official games the perimeter of the ball may not be bigger then 71 centimetres and may not be smaller than 68 centimetres. The weight of the ball has to be between 453 and 396 grams.
1.8 Number of players
Each team may only have 11 players (of whom 1 goalkeeper) in the field during one match. The trainer of each team may only switch 3 times if it is an official FIFA game. If it is no official FIFA game, trainers may switch 5 times.
1.9 FIFA
The FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association, or in English the Federation of International Football Associations) is the most important federation in football. It is the international organization of association football. The headquarters (where the FIFA have meetings) is in Zürich, Switzerland. The president is Joseph Blatter, and the FIFA is the organizer of the FIFA World Cup.
1.10 Uefa
The Uefa (Union of European Football Associations) is the highest organization in football in Europe. If a national football federation like the KNVB in Holland doesn’t act right, by making wrong decisions or something else, the Uefa convent. The president of the Uefa is Michael Platini. The Uefa controls the administration of European football.
RULES
2.1 Offside:
Offside is a very important rule in soccer. If the attacker stands between the last defender and the goalkeeper of the defending squad, at the moment the ball is played, he’s offside. If a player is offside, the defending squad gets a free kick.
2.2 Penalty
A penalty is a sort of free kick in the eighteen-yard area, on the specially made ‘penalty-mark’. All the other players have to stand outside the eighteen-yard area, except the defending goalkeeper. The attacking team gets a penalty if a foul is made inside the eighteen-yard area. Usually, the defender that made the foul gets a yellow, or even a red card, but it doesn’t have to, it’s up the referee to decide that.
2.3 Yellow/Red card
Yellow and red cards are penalties. If you make a foul, then the referee decides if it’s just a free kick, a yellow card or even a red card. If you get 2 times yellow in 1 game, you get a get card. That means that you must leave the field immediately. Later on, a disciplinary committee decides if your red card is dismissed, because of a wrong interpretation by the referee, or a lack of evidence. They also decide how long you are suspended.
There are some fouls where is standard a card for, if you make that foul;
- You make hands on purpose (Yellow card)
- A tackle from behind ( It depends on how harsh the tackle is)
- A tackle with 2 legs (Most of the time red)
- When someone takes a free kick, and you block it while you don’t keep (9.15m) distance (yellow card)
- If you abuse the referee (Also depends on what you say against the referee)
- You stand in the goal and you are no keeper. Someone shoots and you block the ball on purpose with your hand. (Red, and a penalty for the attacking team)
There are several other fouls where you get a penalty in the form of a card, but I think this makes quiet clear what you must not do while you’re playing football.
2.4 Goal
Making goals is where playing football is all about. If you score more goals in a game then your opponent, you win! A goal is scored when the ball is completely behind the goal line.
2.5 The throw-in
If you throw in, you must throw the ball with two hands from behind you head (in your neck). When you throw, you have to stand outside the field, and you are not allowed to jump; you’ll have to stand with both feet on the ground.
You get a throw-in when the other team kicks the ball out of the field. The referee/linesman decides which team gets the throw.
REFEREE
3.1 The referee
A game in soccer is leaded by a referee, two linemen and a fourth official. The referee quartet leads the entire game.
3.2 Leadership
The 4 referees completely run the game, but in the game, the final responsible is the referee in the game. The fourth official and the linemen are just helping tools.
3.3 Outside the game
If a game didn’t course right, later on the national organization bends over the case to bring further course to the case. They also can take if it is a hard case, like a strike after a very bad accident the case to the Uefa. This cases can lead to decisive from international competitions or degredation.
