Crumple Shadow Frame

 

 

What you need for this tutorial:

Paint Shop Pro

A pretty picture.

I used an image of BeverleyLu with her permission, take a look at her site !!. 

Xenofex

If you don't have Xenofex you can download the mask made by me here !!!

 

When you use the mask instead of the xenofex follow the steps 1 and 2 and the steps called mask 1 - 4.

 

 

Step 1:

Open a picture of your choice.

 

Step 2:

Duplicate this picture (Shift+D)

Minimize the original, we need it later on.

 

Mask 1:

Open the Mask in psp.

Go to your picture.

 

Mask 2:

Masks > new > from image.

Search for the CrumpleMask-IBB and make sure invert mask data is checked. OK.

Masks > delete. Click yes with the question you get.

 

Mask 3:

Take you magic wand (RGB Value, Tolerance: 0, Feather: 0 and Sample merged not checked.

Click in the empty border you will get marching ants.

 

Mask 4:

Take your dropper and choose a pretty color from your picture.

Floodfill your selection with the color.

Selections > select none.

Now follow the rest of the tutorial from step 5.

 

Step 3:

Take your dropper and choose a pretty color in your picture.

Click you rightmousebutton so it will be selected as your backgroundcolor.

 

Step 4:

Effects > Pluginns > Xenofex > Crumple:

Settings > Wrinkled Tissue.

 

Step 5:

Selections > select all.

Selections > Modify  > Contract > 25.

 

Step 6:

Copy your original picture (Ctrl+C)

Return to you picture with the selection.

Edit > paste > into selection.

 

Step 7:

Effects > 3D effects > dropshadow:

Color: Black

Horizontal and Vertical: 2

Opacity: 100

Blur: 2.

 

Step 8:

Repeat step 7 with horizontal and vertical -2.

 

Step 9:

Selections > Modify > contract > 25

 

Step 10:

Repeat step 6.

 

Step 11:

Repeat step 7 and 8.

 

Step 12:

Take your magic wand.

(Match mode: RGB Value, Tolerance: 0, Feather: 0 and

Sample merge not checked)

Click with you magicwand in the outside border with the backgroundcolor.

Selections > Invert.

 

Step 13:

Repeat step 7 and 8.

Selections > Select none.

 

Step 14:

Take your dropper and choose another color then before and

click on your rightmousebutton to select it as your backgroundcolor.

 

Step 15:

Image > add borders > 10 , symmetric.

 

Step 16:

Click with your magicwand in the added border.

Effects > 3D effects > innerbevel:

 

Step 17:

Repeat step 15.

Click with your magicwand in the added border.

Effects > Reflection effects > Kaleidoscope:

 

Step 18:

Set your foregroundcolor on a color that doesn't match your picture and

and the foregroundcolor your backgroundcolor.

Repeat step 15.

Click with your magic wand in the added border and

floodfill this with the color you used in step 14 this should be your foregroundcolor !!!

Effects > 3D effects > innerbevel with the settings from step 16.

Repeat step 7 and 8.

 

Step 19:

Resize it if you like to !!!

Don't forget to sharpen after resizing your result.
