This tutorial was written by me because of the love for my own

Agapornis Roseicollis, a dwarfparrot.

 

PSP 8

 

The colorpalette:

 

Green: body

Red: head

Braun: beak

Grey: feet

Use the next settings for your Paint Brush:
shape: square

size: 1

hardness: 100

step: 25

density: 100

thickness: 100

rotation: 0

opacity: 100

 

Open a new image 100 x 100 pixels,

this is enough space to create the parrot.

 

For the outlines of the parrot I used black:

 

Your outline is ready.

 

Select the body including the two pixels of the tail.

Floodfill with lightgreen.

Selection > float.

 

Give the body a cutout:

Vertical and horizontal: 0

Opacity: 100

Blur: 10

Color: lightgreen

 

Selections > select none

 

Draw the head with light red:

 

 

Select the red part, selection > float

and give the same cutout as before,

but with blur 5 and color dark red.

 

Select the parts of the beak and floadfill with light braun.

Selection > float.

Give the same cutout as before,

but with blur 2 and color dark braun.

 

Select the feet and floodfill with grey.

Selections > float.

Give the same cutout as before,

but color black.

 

Selections > select none.

 

Don't forget the white pixel of the eye.

 

Your parrot is finished !!!
