Selection Parrot

 

 

What do you need for this tutorial:

 

Paint Shop Pro 7.04

Selection Parrot.zip

 

Download this zip with my psp. In this psp the selections are saved

in the alpha channel, open this psp in Paint Shop Pro.

Futher there is in the zip a colorpalette with the colors of the parrot

that is shown above, these are the colors I use in this tutorial,

but you can use your own colors.

Also there is in the zip a Woodfill for the wooden stick.

Open the colorpalette and the woodfill in PSP !!!

 

Make sure you layerpalette is open !!!

 

Save your work often, you will not be reminded of that in the tutorial !!!

 

Now let's get started !!!!

 

The backgroundlayer is closed with the cross on the glasses,

this background can be used for filling when your parrot is finished.

 

 

Step 1

Go to your layerpalette and make sure layer tail 1 is selected.

Selections > load from alpha channel. Load tail 1.

Floodfill with the green from the colorpalette.

Effects > Noise > 6. Selections > float.

Effects > 3D effects > Cutout with the following settings:

 

 

Selections > select none.

Step 2

Open tail 2 and load tail 2.

Floodfill with green. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 3

Open tail 3 and load tail 3.

Floodfill with green. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 4

Open tail 4 and load tail 4.

Floodfill with green. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 5

Open tail 5 and load tail 5.

Floodfill with green. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 6

Open tail 6 and load tail 6.

Floodfill with green. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 7

Open wooden stick and load wooden stick.

Put your forground on pattern scale: 100 and angle: 0.

Floodfill with the woodfill.

Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 8

Open body and load body.

Floodfill with green. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 9

Open toes 1 and load toes 1.

Floodfill with orange. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 10

Open toes 2 and load toes 2.

Floodfill with orange. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 11

Open toes 3 and load toes 3.

Floodfill with orange. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 12

Open wings and load wings.

Floodfill with green. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 13

Open head and load head.

Floodfill with green. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 14

Open eyes1 and load eyes1.

Floodfill with white. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 15

Open eyes2 and load eyes2.

Floodfill with black. Give it an innerbevel if you like that.

Select none.

 

Step 16

Open mouth and load mouth.

Floodfill with orange. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

Step 17

Open nose and load nose.

Floodfill with orange. Noise. Float. Cutout. Select none.

 

 

Your parrot is finished !!!

 

 

Below you see an example with other colors.

Also I selected the top part of the head and filled it with another color.
