Reiki, 'Ascended' Masters and Universal Energy

INTRODUCTION
After I had written the page on the possible connection between (Shambhala) Reiki and the Ascended Masters I received an email from Larry in which he argues that Reiki energy is a kind of universal energy that goes way beyond any manipulation by ascended masters or whoever. In response I question the idea that reiki truly is an untampered expression of universal energy that can be useful for all people at various levels of their ascension process.

LARRY'S LETTER
So, let's get started with excerpts from Larry's letter from january 2009:

While I am not very supportive of SSosa's degrading everything not of their making I have to admit a lot of humor over the " new and Improved " salesmanship in everything newage. I can name as many "versions" of reiki as I can christian churches after all I live in the Bible Belt. I would like to remind you that to call your self a christian there is no minimum requirement. Likewise there is no minimum requirement to "create a new Reiki". If your selling something it does not hurt to have "someone famous" to recommend your product and what is better than someone that your customers can not speak to that is famous like "an ascended master". Pick one it does not matter, what the name, how will anyone disagree with you without fear of being struck down by the "powers that be".

That being said I hope you understand that I support Reiki because I understand Reiki. If you're an energy being and your being created in every moment you might call the energy that creates you Reiki. If you do then please understand it was not just created by someone in 1998 otherwise you would not have existed before then.

Can energy be manipulated by an energy being? Certainly and that being the case is there positive manipulations and negative manipulations? What do you want to call this manipulation of reiki energy? Anything you want after all the source of energy does not speak English or Dutch. Acupuncture or holding points is still the manipulation of life energy or reiki energy. To manipulate it to become anything other than closer to your source of life energy is probably a joke so I would not fear its use will lead to subjugation of any particular group including ass-ended masters.

You might learn more about the energy that creates you and others. You may learn how to feel it better and know how to relate your thinking with it for ascension. Imagine feeling the energy that makes up your soul and in particular the energy that flows from your heart chakra.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Let's first start off with a small correction: you seem to suggest that Reiki was created in 1998 by St Germain. In the article it was said that the Shambhala Reiki variant was introduced to the world in 1998. Reiki would have been amongst us for a longer period of time.

You seem to equate reiki energy with thé ultimate energy that makes up the universe. I am not inclined to agree with you on that idea. If that were the case you wouldn't need any reiki initiations in order to be able to work with the reiki energy: it would be possible for everybody to heal others even without an initiation.

Then there is the argument that a number of people seem to experience that the basic reiki healing is not completely in line with the current level of energy that would be available on the planet. If you add the comments of the SSoA to the whole I see enough reasons to regard Reiki as a kind of healing energy that can be quite useful for those below or resting at vibration 1800, but it turns less useful for those resonating at a vibration above 1800.

The Shambhala Reiki variant that would have introduced in 1998 by an ascended master would hold a higher vibration. The sole idea that St Germain has added his signature to the Shambhala Reiki is enough for me not to work with that kind of energy at all. I believe that energy can hold signatures and the use of energy with an ascended master signature is not something I would like to have in my system.

I, personally have more faith in the initiation-free use of energy that is truly the building block of our world. I think we should work towards a way of using healing energy that is free for everybody, not related to any initation, not related to any theocratic dependent etheric being in the sky. I would prefer to focus on the idea that we can perhaps help other people by transferring the energy of their higher selves to their bodies, in those cases that they are not able to do it themselves.

Ultimately we should stop healing others and instead learn everybody to run the right energies, think the most harmless and beneficial thoughts and as a result of that everybody should learn to heal themselves with their own energy. Until then I think we can continue using the Reiki energy for those below 1800 and experiment with the belief that we can assist others in moving their higher healing energies to the places that seem to need it the most.
