There is much information available for the genus Muscari from various sources but so far a book covering everything hasn’t been published yet. I try to fill this gap here.

I don’t claim this website to be a work of scientific value. I gathered bits of information from all possible sources such as books, articles and other websites. I added my personal experience to it and used what I thought was right.

On this website I have used the classification of the genus Muscari which is widely accepted but still debated. In this writing the genus is split into four different sub-genera or groups: Pseudomuscari, Botryanthus, Leopoldia and Muscarimia. Some authors give these sub-genera the status of separate species,I stick to the old-fashioned classification until changes have been made official.

I  tried to keep the layout of the Muscaripages as easy and clearly as possible. The index on the left hand side stays visible all the time so the viewer won’t ‘get lost’ browsing through the site. All items appear in this frame on the right hand side.  The HOME button is  for  people that arrived on a single page, through a search engine for instance. It is not needed for navigating through the site.  The sections species and cultivars; propagation; growing Muscaris and using Muscaris  appear in a new frame, above the original, because they are more elaborate.
