Zoo in Dehiwala
This Zoo is in Dehiwala (abt. 10 km from the centre - Fort) and is one of the biggest Zoos in Asia. It has an impressive
collection of birds, reptiles and other animals.
The Zoo started in 1905 (by a German named C. Hagenbeck), but it was in 1923 when he registered the institute by the name
Ceylon Zoological Gardens Company. It was taken over by the British rulers in 1938. In 1952 it was turned into a national
level department.

- It's very clean all over the place.
