Temple of the Tooth (Dalada Maligawa)

It is the main sight of Kandy, which is situated at the Kandy Lake in the centre. In this temple is kept the sacred Tooth of Buddha, which came from India to Sri Lanka in the 4th century.
The temple has various shrines, Royal Audience Hall, a library and a museum.
There is a heavy security check before entering the temple (without shoes).
