Johan's Journey to India (Dec. 31 2011 - Jan. 15 2012) on YouTube

With a small group of ten people I visited some important Buddhist sites,
culminating in the Kalachakra (Wheel of Time) Initiation in Bodhgaya,
given by H.H. the Dalai Lama.

The journey was organized by the (Tibetan-Buddhist) Maitreya Institute, Amsterdam
The itinerary:

Amsterdam - London Heathrow - Delhi
Patna
Bodhgaya - 'Bodhi Tree' the place where the Buddha obtained Enlightenment.
Nalanda - one of the first great (Budddhist) universities (500-1200 AD).
Rajgir - 'Vulure Peak' the site where the Buddha taught a.o. the Heart Sutra.
Varanasi (Benares) - city situated on the banks of the River Ganges.
Sarnath - in 'Deer Park' the Buddha gave his first teachings
