| Collecting British WW2 airborne militaria |

The airborne soldiers had to take a vast amount of ammunition into battle; uncertain of the moment of resupply. For this purpose in 1942 the Sten ammo bandolier was introduced, it could hold seven magazines for the Sten sub machine gun. The seven pockets were closed by a quick release webbing tab passing through a brass ring. A three inch wide sling was fitted to carry the bandolier.
