(O#o, 1996b), Organic Data Organisation (Human Being as Data Process(or)); Proc. ABA Conference, (Symposium on Cyber-Cluster-City-Concepts), Athens, July 10-17 1996, Athens, Greece.
Living cells, organisms, societies, and their constructs (e.g. cities) are based on the same concept. The interactions within and between complex man-made systems (such as cities or the internet) are more easily understood when it is clear that they are designed and created by humans. The principles by which living systems operate (and interact with their context) are thereby more fundamental considerations than the description of the Internet or cities as if an object. They are not objects in the classical sense, because they are the result of living organisms. They can be compared to the material deposited by our living cells in creating our body. In our body we can see that we are not only a data processor, in interpreting and processing information about our context, but our body also functions and maintains its integrity by processing information. (The nervous system processes our sensory input and body processes as part of the same integral system.) This makes it possible to see that the physical manifestation of our body is the result of a computation, taking place in our body. Our body is thus an information processor, of which the body itself is a result. The principles involved are of fundamental importance for healing, and for ensuring the integrity of social systems, and the integrity of social processes such as the internet or cities.
