(O#o, 1983), Yes (Earth is a Living Organism), Proc. Nat. Audubon Society "Is the Earth a Living Organism?", Amherst, USA.
As a herald for papers yet to come, this paper addressed the integration of Information and Matter in living beings as seen on Earth. Our body is excellent example of the way material science needs to be supplemented and complemented with the understanding of information processing (consciousness, intelligence). Earth shows the same principles at a larger scale. This paper also heralds the finding presented in later papers: the solution of the problem is so evident, why is it not seen, and not applied? The paper shows that from the definitions it is a straightforward conclusion that Earth is a Living Organism. The conclusion is evident: there are human factors at play due to which the evident is not seen or denied. This is presumably the same mechanism by which effective forms of healing remain unused by those who would benefit from them. The paper presents for the 4D dynamic logic helps bridge the gap between the known and the unknown, between individuals and groups of people, and thus addresses the propagation of information in living organisms, be it humanity or Earth. The paper also was written to give direct support to the conference topic: Earth is a living organism, and needs to be understood and treated as such. This paper therein also prepares for later work on resolving ‘sustainability’.
