CVG has posted a playable demo for Phantasy Star Online, the upcoming PC port of the third-person Dreamcast MMORPG by Sonic Team and Sega. Download the demo here or here (13MB).

Monolith has released the v1.0.9.3 patch (5MB), which includes a handful of gameplay fixes and a bunch of multiplayer improvements and the first multiplayer map pack (12.6MB) which includes 10 multiplayer maps for Aliens vs Predator 2. You can also download the patch and map pack here or here.

Microsoft announced yesterday that Age of Mythology, Ensemble Studios' latest real-time strategy game, will be available in September of 2002. Age of Mythology is set in a mythological past when heroes battled monsters of legend, and gods intervened in the affairs of mortal men. In addition Microsoft released new AVI movie (14.5MB) that showcases the ancient Norse civilization.

Activision has confirmed today that the company is currently in development on the fourth installment in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise which is being created by developer Neversoft Entertainment. The title is slated for release in fiscal year 2003. Read more here.

Paladin requires that you change the command line to execute CS right? well if you change it and you got to a punkbuster monitored server you get kicked after a while with being acused of an OpenGL hack! Change the commandline in normal hl.exe again and everything is normal. So paladin executable + punkbuster monitored server = OpenGL violation 114. Read more here.

Eighteen years ago a Lord of the Rings game appeared in a Parker Brothers catalog for the Atari 2600. Unfortunately, the game was never released, along with several other titles that appeared alongside it. Just in time for the first Lord of the Rings movie release next week, AtariAge.com has discovered a long lost prototype of this game, probably one of the most sought after 2600 vaporware titles. A post on Shacknews has instructions on how to play Quake III engine games such as Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor, and of course Quake III Arena in 16x9 widescreen mode.

The instructions seem only applicable to NVIDIA owners using WinXP/2K, and require a willingness to muck around with your driver INF file, but they've even posted a ready made INF file that is compatible with all Nvidia Cards for download as well. Read more here. Needless to say changing or replacing your Nvidia Card INF file could result in problems with your video card, so use this information at your own risk!

For all Pocket PC owners who can't wait for a taste of Hyperspace Delivery Boy, MonkeyStone has released Hyperspace Delivery Boy: The Demo,which contains 4 levels of "Dangerous Deliveries! Menacing Aliens! Insanely Massive Challenges!" The full version of Hyperspace Delivery Boy will be available to order from the official website.

MagicBox has posted ten new screenshots of Sega's Virtua Fighter 4 for PlayStation 2, the PS2 version will have additional fighting locations not found in the Naomi 2 arcade version. Virtua Fighter 4 for PS2 is scheduled for release in Japan on January 31, for 6800 yen.
