Special Parts
In order to make things work I had to make a few parts myself.
latest updates at the bottom (page could load slow)

with the longer tank on it I need to change the position of the foot pegs and also the brake and shifter peg, here's the brake pedal stage one, 10 mm thick aluminum. |
| first fit to see how and if it will work, not too good for now | |
| needed a second piece to back it up and to create a "catch" | |
![]() |
just a different angle, still a bit long. |
![]() |
I used the stock return spring on it that's why it needs a catch |
![]() |
finished drilled some holes to save on weight and make it look a bit "faster" |
![]() |
maybe I will change the footpegs later on. |
I finally put the passenger pegs on it. (update Oct 5) |
Today it's may 30 2002 and about time to get something done again. so next little project : a battery box the stock one is a bit too wide for the narrowed frame and too heavy. so I used aluminum sheet. |
had to cut it |
here are the 2 pieces I put together the "bottom" piece is a bit stronger then the "side" piece |
folding the edged
with the stock box in the back ground |
but managed to fold all edges |
riveted the pieces together |
and in to the frame |
this way it fit's better |
the main reason for a new box is that the rubber-band that holts the tank
down fits better this way, more straight down. this box is almost an inch shorter |

here is what it looked like with the stock box in the frame. The starter relay, which normally is mounted to the left side of the box, will be moved to the rear side of the new box. There's room enough for it. With the frame narrowed the relay wasn't "inside" the tubes any more, no need to rub it with my knee., so better move it.
Here a view on how the starter relay is mounted now.

side view |
I had a " little " mishap, a short cut from the battery pos. to the
starter relay that made a ground. Wires pretty much burned down got things fixed again.. see above. |

Here the stock situation on the frame, the mounting for the foot-peg isn't needed any more................. |
![]() |
............and above all it won't line up with the shifter link.......... |
![]() |
...... only thing left grind it off !!! |
![]() |
Now it fits. |

this where I started from. |
