Connect a GPS to your PDA using IRDA

BUILD YOUR OWN GPSIRDA CONVERTER

Welcome to my website that I developed to show you how to build your own GPS to IRDA converter which can be used on a HP IPAQ h1910 / h1915 (or other PDA's equipped with an IRDA / Infrared port).

Did you buy a PDA and want to use it now for car navigation but your PDA has no GPS connection possibilities?

Then read on!!!!

You can start at the introduction page or go straight to the Do It Yourself Pages where schematics are published. Don't forget the check News for recent updates. Visit the Photo Page for an impression of the results of designing and building the converter and to see how other people are using the converters. I get remarks from people visiting my website. Some of these remarks will be use for possible future enhancements. If you have any questions or comments, please drop me an email at gpsirda@tiscali.nl or check the FAQ page

GPS IRDA converters are not being sold anymore

Due to the dropped interest and the lack of time, I'm not building the GPS IRDA converters anymore. I do have about 50 DIY kits available which I sell for € 15,00 a piece. The printed circuit board will fit perfectly into a haicom GPS cable. Look here. Drop me an email if you're interested: gpsirda@tiscali.nl

New GPSIRDA converter available

This converter is even smaller than the previous version. It is available for a connection to several GPS Mice (Haicom, Leadtek, Holux) and many PDA's (Ipaq h19xx, Acer, Asus, Dell, ..).
